The Media Club is a vibrant space where students passionate about journalism, filmmaking, photography, and digital storytelling come together. It provides hands-on experience in creating short films, documentaries, podcasts, and social media content, allowing members to develop practical skills while exploring their creative potential.
Beyond production, the club organizes workshops, competitions, and interactive sessions with industry professionals, giving students exposure to real-world media practices. It is a platform to collaborate, innovate, and express ideas, helping members bring stories to life and connect with like-minded peers in a dynamic media environment.

Mission
The Media Club of WUB aims to nurture creativity, practical media skills, and critical thinking among students. It provides a platform to explore journalism, filmmaking, photography, and digital storytelling, while encouraging collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.

- Skill Development: Equip members with practical skills in reporting, photography, videography, editing, and digital media production.

Policies
1. Executive Board
The Officers of the Club shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Together, they will constitute the Executive Board of the Club.
2. Additional Officer Positions
The Executive Board may create additional officer positions and appoint members as needed. These officers may be included in the Organization’s governing body if their responsibilities and authority are clearly outlined in the Organization’s Constitution.
3. Advisor Requirement
The Club must have a full-time faculty or staff member as its advisor. The advisor shall serve as an ex officio (non-voting) member of the Organization, providing guidance and support.
4. Restrictions on the President
The President of the Club may not hold the same position in any other organization registered with the Office of Student Activities.
5. Election of Officers
The President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer shall be elected by a simple majority vote of the members present at the election meeting. These positions may not be filled by appointment.
6. Duties of the President
The President shall:
- Call and preside over all meetings of the Membership.
- Serve as the chairperson of meetings.
- Plan and coordinate organizational events with input from the Executive Committee.
- Prepare and present an annual budget request with the Treasurer to the appropriate funding source.
7. Duties of the Vice President
The Vice President shall assume the responsibilities of the President in their absence or if the President is unable or unwilling to perform their duties.
8. Duties of the Treasurer
The Treasurer shall:
- Maintain accurate financial records of the Organization.
- Request payments on behalf of the Organization.
- Prepare and present budget requests with the President.
- Ensure that all funds are properly maintained within the University’s accounting system.
- Ensure that outside bank accounts are not established.
9. Duties of the Secretary
The Secretary shall:
- Record accurate minutes of all meetings of the Membership and the Executive Committee.
- Write and distribute newsletters or notices informing members of meetings and events.
- Maintain an accurate and updated list of all members of the Organization.
10. Advisor’s Role
The Club Advisor must be a full-time faculty member of the World University of Bangladesh. The Advisor shall serve as a non-voting member of the Executive Committee, providing guidance, administrative support, and assistance in preparing programs and events for the academic year.
11. Program Planning
The Executive Board shall propose programs, activities, or publications for the fall, spring, and summer semesters. These proposals must be presented to the Membership for approval at a General Meeting. Members are encouraged to recommend additional programs or publications. When necessary, the Executive Committee may appoint committee chairs to oversee specific tasks and involve other members in program execution.
12. Removal of Officers
Any officer of the Club may be removed from office by a two-thirds (2/3) affirmative vote of the Membership.
13. Policy Amendments
Club policies may be amended at any time by a two-thirds (2/3) affirmative vote of the Membership.
