Hearty Welcome to the Department of Media Studies and Journalism of the World University of Bangladesh (WUB).

The purpose of Media Studies and Journalism education is more than understanding theory and practice, though media professionals’ skill development and their capacity building are essential in the present age. Its purpose should go beyond these things. The ultimate purpose of Media Studies and Journalism education should be to impart practical and hands-on knowledge and learning in the discipline, in conjunction with a brief knowledge of related social sciences.

Media Studies and Journalism, being a multi-faceted discipline and multi-pronged profession, requires planned, deliberate, and specialized education and training in a variety of subjects. The discipline has recently emerged with a multi-disciplinary approach.

The Bachelor of Media Studies and Journalism program at the WUB provides an in-depth education, training, and research opportunity to students willing and able to undertake the rigors of both academic and industrial learning in the profession.

WUB’s Department of Media Studies and Journalism, being a Centre of Academic Excellence, aims to impart theoretical, practical, and hands-on knowledge in the discipline, to build a band of conscious, committed, competitive, courageous, and compassionate media professionals and nation builders.
